All HISTORICAL games, game-related products, and accessories released in calendar year 2008 can compete
in the first annual HISTORICON Awards. Click on the following link for the

and send in samples of your products, and get into the running.
The HMGS HISTORICON Awards will be presented on Friday Night at HISTORICON 2009, by the Historical
Miniatures Gaming Society (HMGS) as part of the Annual HMGS Awards Presentations.

The HMGS HISTORICON Awards are a great investment for both promoting your products and recognizing their
excellence. Your participation can lead to free marketing exposure and advertising to many thousands of
customers whom you'd normally never reach. Many HMGS member, volunteers, and Game Masters
(your customers) have worked hard for many years to finally initiate an awards program to recognize
and appreciate our Historical gaming industry (you). We urge all members of the Historical Gaming
Industry to participate in the awards’ first year on the 25th Anniversary of HISTORICON.

OVERVIEW: The HMGS HISTORICON Awards are intended for Historical Game publishers and
Historical Miniatures Manufacturers to submit their best products in a variety of categories to vie for
the honor of “Game or Miniature of the Year.” The HISTORICON Awards process is based loosely
on the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences

and the Origins Awards

PURPOSE: The HISTORICON Awards are intended to:

Recognize excellence and prominence in the Historical Gaming Industry, and
-
Provide product exposure and marketing stimulus for the Historical Gaming Industry.
ELIGIBILITY: All Historical Gaming Industry products released during the calendar year (2008).

Historical Miniatures Terrain Line of the Year
Historical Miniatures Publications College

Historical Miniatures Gaming Reference Publication of the Year
Plus a special Advanced Guard Award for “Significant, unique or innovative products”
SUBMISSION: To enter a product for the HISTORICON Awards, an entry form must be submitted
to the Awards Chair before the Product Submission Deadline of MAY 1, 2009.
(Note: 2-5 Product Samples must follow within 2 weeks; email form to
Awards@HMGS.org
for shipping address.)
NOMINATIONS: Submissions will be reviewed by a jury of industry peers drawn from
experienced members of the Historical Gaming Industry and Game Masters selected by the HMGS East
Awards Committee. The jury will solicit and review as many products as possible, and then vote to
select HMGS HISTORICON Awards Nominees. The top five (5) vote recipients in each category earn a
place on the final ballot and will be awarded a “Silver Star Award”.
VOTING: Attendees at HISTORICON 2009 will vote from one ballot per badge-holder.
