Run the Gauntlet Tournament (Qualifying Tournament)

  • The Flames of War 600 point Run the Gauntlet tournament will be 600 (Waffen SS and Soviet Guard armies are 500 points; British and US Italy Veterans are 465 points).
  • The tournament will be for armies from the Late War period.
  • Each player is responsible for bringing their own 600 point Late War army and two objective markers.
  • All army lists located below are also legal for the Run the Gauntlet Tournament.
  • The list will be drawn up using the 600 point guidelines published in the Version 2.0 rulebook on page 185.
  • All rules contained in the basic Flames of War rulebook 2.0, the supplemental intelligence books published before 30 June 2007, as well as the latest Lessons from the Front located on www.flamesofwar.com will be used.
  • Each player will play as many games in the time allowed (there are no rounds); player with the highest points wins.
  • All questions and concerns regarding Regional Qualifier Tournaments, qualified participants and/or the National Tournament should be submitted to USNationals@battlefront.co.nz.

  • 1750 points (Waffen SS and Soviet Guard armies are 1460 points; British and US Italy Veterans are 1350 points).
  • Army lists, including unit history, must be submitted to USNationals@battlefront.co.nz no later than June 6th, 2008. [Note: Players wishing to use an army list located in the Operation Cobra book must submit an initial army list that they intend to use no later than June 6th, 2008. You must note on your army list that you plan on switching your army to one of those located in the Operation Cobra book. Operation Cobra army lists must be submitted no later than July 15th, 2008.]
  • Only the following army lists are allowed to take multiple companies:

    • Commando Troop (Festung Europa)
    • US Rangers (Blood Omaha)
    • Churchill squadron Italy (PDF)

  • 6 Rounds over 2 days (3 rounds on the first day and 3 rounds on the second day).

  • All armies must be fully painted. Any miniatures not fully painted will be pulled from the table prior to starting the tournament.
  • Rounds will be determined by game play results and each player will be seeded with an opponent of his caliber.
  • We will also attempt to match up allies vs. axis whenever possible but do not expect every game to work out historically.
  • All qualifying players will automatically be registered for the National Tournament so it will be very important to ensure that Regional Qualifier Tournament organizers receive the proper information. Please notify Battlefront Miniatures if you are unable to go so we may contact an alternate. Confirmation letters will also be sent to qualifiers reminding everyone of their participation and all qualifying players must RSVP Battlefront Miniatures U.S. at USNationals@battlefront.co.nz by no later than May 15th, 2008 or risk losing their slot to an alternate player.
  • International players must qualify in order to participate in the US National Tournament.
  • Our prizes will be awarded in the following order of importance and no player shall be awarded more than one prize. We will hand out awards for the following categories:
    • Best Overall (Highest overall score)
    • 2nd Place Overall
    • 3rd Place Overall
    • Best General (Awarded to the player with the highest Battle points)
    • Best Sport (Awarded to the player with the highest Sportsmanship score)
    • Best Army (Best appearance score rated by the judges)
    • Best Platoon (Best painted platoon rated by the judges)
  • We will also have other prizes on hand for our pub quiz and other acts of bravery over the weekend.
