The Preliminary Events List (PEL) will be available on/about May 12, 2008
via this page (GMs Note: Event registration to register your event opens
March 10, 2008; PEL deadline is April 11, 2008).
However, the following contains some early information about some returning
events, as well as some special events that will make their first appearance
at this year's convention! Follow the links below.
In 1990s HMGS-East financially supported a Military and Naval History
Forum Proceedings (edited by Dr. James Birdseye and Mr. Richard Brooks)
from the seminar series Military Forum. Recently this has not only been
reborn, with Richard Brooks as the Seminar Coordinator, but also expanded
into a full series for HISTORICON. Simply, since HISTORICON is the biggest
convention with the largest attendance, there's no better place for this
convention highlight and proper series of seminars on topics ranging from
military and naval history to theme related and miniature wargaming in
general. POC for all seminars is: Richard Brooks, Seminar Coordinator –
seminars@historicon.org.
Osprey Publishing
will be back at HISTORICON with an info booth about the latest in illustrated
military history from Black Hawk helicopters to British Napoleonic Infantry
Tactics. While final details are still being arranged there are plenty of new
initiatives from this popular publishing company to keep you interested, the
latest information can be found at the following link for
Osprey Events.
Casemate Publishing,
the fastest-growing military history publisher and distributor in America, will be at
HISTORICON for the first time. Although they will not be selling books (please see the other
booksellers in the Expo Center for that), you will be able to visit with them, enter prize
draws, attend their seminar, etc. More information can be found at the following link for
Casemate Events.
