HMGS War College (formerly the Military Seminar Series): This year we have another grand battery of speakers and seminars, with topics ranging throughout history, and quite a number of theme-related. If you are looking to spend just an hour or two between games and shopping at this year’s convention, then don’t forget to check out the HMGS War College, and also the list of Special Guests (see links at left).

25th Anniverary

25th “Silver” Anniversary: This year marks the 25th (or “Silver”) Anniversary of HISTORICON, and some great things are in the offing. While details are still being planned suffice to say there will be a very nice commemorative 25th Anniversary tape measure, plus other free swag as more exhibitors get involved. After all, twenty-five years is a great feat for a convention started by a non-profit educational organization that teaching history while “playing with toy soldiers”! Other things planned are a commemorative polo shirt, as well as a very nice celebration on Friday night just after the HMGS Annual HISTORICON Awards & Scruby Award Presentations – not to be missed! Click on the Events (PEL) link at the left for more information.

Miniature Wargaming Article: If you would like to see a nice report of HISTORICON 2007, the following is a 4-page review in the November 2007 issue of Miniature Wargames™ (used with permission), complete with photos at:

As it does every year, HISTORICON presents “the world’s largest hobby shop”, plus the world’s biggest hobby flea market, for four days every July. Both offer a gigantic selection of military miniatures, rules, books and anything else needed for the historical miniature gaming hobby.

HISTORICON is the historical miniatures gaming convention in the United States. Each year, thousands of avid gamers descend on scenic Lancaster, Pennsylvania for what the New York Times has described as the "mother of all wargaming conventions." There will be hundreds and hundreds of games, the world's biggest wargame hobby shop, painting events and much, much more. Don't miss the fun! Make plans now to attend HISTORICON July 16-19, 2009 (at the Lancaster Host Resort & Conference Center in Lancaster, PA.) Be there!
